If you stay in China too long, you kinda get cabin fever. It’s good to escape to tropical paradises (very close by) or hop down to Hong Kong! My friends and I decided to make a short trip to Hong Kong a few weekends ago for Rugby Sevens. No, we did not attend any rugby games. Yes, we did celebrate.
It was my first trip to Hong Kong and I enjoyed every minute of it! From visiting The Peak to discovering the usefulness of the Octopus transportation card that can also be used in convenience stores, restos, shops ect.

At night we joined the masses in celebrating at LKF. We saw lots of great costumes (they like to dress up for this occasion). Group of Waldos, pirates, princesses - you name it. I still think my friends had the best costumes though. My friend Ashley dressed up as Nicki Minaj (so fierce) and Jon dressed up as party rock robot (amazing). Highlight of the evening was when we encountered two other party rock robots. Rock on.

As my group of friends and I danced around and dodged rugby enthusiasts stumbling down the hill where all the action was, I couldn’t help but feel so lucky that I had such a great group of friends in Shanghai who were now with me in HK. Sorority sisters, classmates from BU, friends from Expo and new ones we met during our China adventure. Sometimes I take a step back and realize how crazy and amazing so many friends from different parts of my life are here with me. And then I think about my 14C girls and how much I miss them. Here’s hoping that one of you visits me soon! Or relocate…
